Plus X Award

On May 20, 2008, WaterRower earned one of the prestigious Plus X Award for design in Sports and Lifestyles. The Plus X Awards are given to products that excel in their respected categories.  Other winners on the night included: Bose, Adidas, Canon, Dyson, Polar, Reebok and Panasonic.

     Roz Savage is determined to be the first women to row solo across the Pacific Ocean, she is out currently on her way to Hawaii from the coast of California, you can watch her journey live on her website

     Katie Spotz is currently training on the WaterRower in preparation for bid to be the youngest person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Her journey begins next year, December 2009. Katie is rowing to raise money for the Blue Planet Run Foundation, a charitable organization that works throughout the world to help communities gain access to clean drinking water.

Training Tips

One of the key elements in the rowing action is posture, it is essential that a strong postural position is maintained throughout the rowing action. To achieve correct posture, the torso is simply rocked from a slightly backward (11 o’clock) position to a forward (1 o’clock) position on the seat. This is known as the Rock Over Phase.

 Try this workout

  • Warm Up – Light rowing for 5 up to 10 minutes, practising technique drills.

  • Main Workout – 4x 3 minutes (1 minute light rowing, 1 minute medium rowing and 1 minute hard rowing). Repeat 3x or until 12 minutes is complete.

  • Cool Down – Light rowing for 3 up to 5 minutes and stretch for 5 minutes to end the workout.

  •
